Europe’s most southerly ski resort is open for business. Located near the city of Granada the Sierra Nevada Ski Resort is currently undergoing a transformation that will see the introduction of an eight-seat chairlift that will service the Borreguiles beginner’s area.
Sadly the new chairlift and two new tow lifts will not be ready until next season. What Sierra Nevada skiers do have to look forward to is 12 kilometres of new runs on the K12 from El Veleta to Pradollano.
Loma de Dílar has a new cross country trail and the Águila slope has been fitted with radar so that skiers can monitor their speed.
There are also new electronic signs throughout the resort that let you know the waiting times at the different ski stations.
If you are a fan of snowboarding be sure and pencil in your calendar March 6th and 7th 2020 when the Snowboard Cross World Cup comes to town.
New visitors to Nerja are often amazed that just a couple of hours away, one can go skiing in the morning and then sunbathe on the coast in the afternoon.
