The same company behind the Costa del Sol’s Iceland stores is backing the Food Co, a new venture to sell Tesco’s range of products in Las Lagunas on the road between Fuengirola and Mijas.
Food Co has rapidly been expanding in Spain with a chain of supermarkets selling Tesco products and expects to have its new Mijas location open before the end of March.
The 600 sqm metre store is currently being fitted out to offer 7,500 Tesco branded goods along with other familiar British household names.
Managers for the company have commented that they are always looking for “the best of British” to offer their customers in Spain.
Just like Iceland stores, all employees at Food Co’s Mijas outlet will speak English, and all products for sale will come with English labelling.
The new Mijas venture marks Food Co’s first venture into Malaga province after having already opened a successful store in Mazarrón (Murcia) last year.
