Nerja Council has approved the contracting of an ‘Economic Feasibility Study’ for the construction and operation of a new restaurant to be built on the famous Calahonda beach.
Detailed requirements will be made available for relevant businesses to place a bid to acquire the rights to build and operate a restaurant on the popular beauty spot.
Calahonda beach used to house a working restaurant until it was closed in September 2014.
In June 2018, The old derelict Papagayo restaurant was finally demolished and the site cleared.
The Councilor for Urbanism, Nieves Atencia, said that with these new plans, the council hopes that Calahonda, one of the most photographed coves on the Costa del Sol, recovers all of its excellent facilities and is fully operational for the enjoyment of locals and visitors.
