Nerja’s Tuesday outdoor market will remain closed at the request of the market traders.
Spain lessened the restrictions to outdoor markets, allowing them to open with 75% fewer vendors than usual while limiting public access to a third of its overall capacity.
Given these severe restrictions members of the Unión Nacional de Empresas del Comercio Ambulante, UNECA and the Asociación de Vendedores Ambulantes de Málaga, AVAM, agreed not to reopen markets until phase 3 or 4 and in accordance with health reports.
Nerja Town Hall, together with the stallholders, has agreed to establish the sanitary conditions needed to be in place before the market can reopen, following the recommendations of the ministry of Health.
