The President of the Andalusian Regional Government, Juanma Moreno, has announced that starting from Wednesday 15 July the use of a face mask will be compulsory. Masks must be worn in both closed and open spaces, regardless of whether the safety distance of one and a half metres can be maintained.
The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, considers the decision to be “more than necessary, given the outbreaks that are occurring in our community, which are affecting our health and our economy, and we must avoid at all costs a return to lockdown, we cannot stop the economy again”.
He appeals to the responsibility of the Nerjeños and Mareños, and all those who visit the area, to comply and follow the health & safety regulations that will prevent the virus.
