The Mayor of Nerja has ordered the closing of all the beaches of Nerja from 12 midnight to 6 am as a preventative measure against Covid-19.
Concerns have arisen that following the announced closure of hotel and nightlife venues, young people may be gathering in open spaces such as beaches. This is worrying as young people are a sector of the population in which there is an increase in outbreaks of infection.
From tonight Nerja’s security forces, Local Police, Guardia Civil and Civil Protection, will carry out the necessary actions of surveillance and control of beach areas.
Nerja’s councillors call on the responsibility of neighbours and visitors to avoid crowds at all times and places. Parents are requested to ensure their children comply with the rules which are vital to prevent the spread of the pandemic in our municipality.
