The Department of Tourism for Andalusia is planning to offer all international travellers staying in Andalusia health and liability insurance for the Covid-19.
This insurance will begin from 1 January 2021 and will cover all costs arising from the possible infection of Covid-19 and its associated effects.
If a tourist becomes infected with Covid-19 the insurance will cover the medical expenses for any treatment, an admission to hospital, and a possible transfer to their home country if the circumstances arise.
It will also include the costs of accommodation and food if a person needs to be quarantined following direct contact with someone who is infected with Covid-19.
This insurance will apply to all travellers who stay overnight in regulated accommodation in Andalusia, whether they are hotels, hostels, tourist flats, rural houses or campsites.
The new Covid-19 insurance has been proposed by the Department for Tourism in an effort to revitalise the tourism sector.
