The repair works are finally completed and Nerja’s public swimming pool is due to reopen today Thursday 1st October.
Repairs began at the pool in January of this year but came to a halt when the state of alarm for Covid-19 was declared.
Since the 21st June, the Town Hall and the repairs company have worked to be able to finish the work in strict compliance with the established health safety regulations.
The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, states “I must thank the work done by the Councillor for Sports and the person responsible for the sports facilities, and especially the Councillor for Urbanism, Nieves Atencia, who has been responsible for the development of the whole project. After solving all the problems that have arisen, we are going to open the pool again with absolute peace of mind for the users, and with the contingency plan in place. For this reason I invite Nerjeños to use these facilities again and to do so with the greatest possible responsibility to avoid risks in these difficult times from the health point of view,” said the mayor.
