I had Brocheta a la Pimienta con verduras y arroz – skewer of meat in a pepper sauce with vegetables and rice. The meat was not actually on a skewer, but apart from that it was exactly as listed on the menu.
It was a good sized portion, the pepper sauce was excellent and it was well presented. The service was very good, the atmosphere was good and the price was very reasonable at €9.95.
Sarah says:
This year was the first time I tried the Jamaica and I thought the food was lovely, both the lunchtime and evening selection. I had the club sandwich in the day which was very tasty and I ordered a side of chips which were way too big for one person alone! In the evening when I returned I tried a pizza which wasnt as good as other places, however others in the group ordered chicken and steak meals and these were lovely.
Lenny says:
Cheap and cheerful, always popular, a Nerja institution for people who like the obvious things in life, guaranteed but bog standard quality, and a final bill that won’t bankupt the family. Staff are great. Locals and visitors alike flock here at lunchtime and there are also hearty, full English/Scottish/Irish (delete as appropriate) breakfasts on offer at an excellent price.

krys and john forman says:
we,ve been eating at the jamacia for 25 years ,the food always good, and the prices ,i wish the staff could speak better english,as i would love to chat and find out about their lives, the boss is always so friendly, and remembers us ,but thats as far as it goes,i,m absolutley no good at spanish,i,ve tried but can,t do it
Marvelous Marvin says:
Considering that we ARE in Spain, you’ll just have to make a better effort at learning Spanish if you want to interview the staff about their lives. Jamaica has an excellent reputation and has been there for years doing quite well with the level of English spoken.
Pauleen Marston says:
Used to be very good was there last week and service was appalling. I had gone in for coffee an hour or so before dinner and left a £5.00 phone card and postcards, and when I asked one and a half hours later if they had them the waiter said sorry he thought it was only two postcards and binned them.
Thought they would have had the sense to keep them at least until next day. Didnt quite ring true to me.
Would not go again because to be honest service was appalling and it only had about six people inside.
Bez says:
I go there frequently as it is one of the nicest friendliest atmospheres in my immediate vaccinity. The staff are lovely and go out of their way to help people – and, in my experience, they will always try and find the owners of items if they can. Valuable items are kept behind the bar in a secure place if the staff didnt manage to catch people.
I can appreciate you may have been upset at the loss of your items but calling their honest over, what probably appeared to be rubbish to them, is uncalled for.
Danstheman says:
So you carelessly left something and its the restuarant’s responsibility to leave ‘rubbish’ lying around for nearly two hours…?
She Bee says:
@Danstheman, totally agree, always someone else’s fault , can you imagine the moaning if they hadn’t cleared the table for nearly two hours?
Barbara Ackers says:
Ditto. We actually left a mobile phone accidentally. The waiter caught up with us further down the street. I’m sure if they thought there was anything of value with the postcards they would have kept hold of it.
Mike Of Slough says:
