Very nice little bar with a large sunny terrace, ideal for watching the world go by. Fairly quiet area, certainly for traffic, so great place if you’ve got kids.
A very popular haunt, particularly in the summer, with a good selection of meals.

We always visit Bar Joanny whenever we are in Nerja. The food is sooooooooooo reasonably priced and sooooooooooo delicious – something to suit everyone. The staff are friendly and very efficient. Can’t wait until May to visit again!

Quite simply the best salads in Nerja if not the whole of Spain. The tropical salad with all the fruit and king prawns is a must. Roll on July

0ur first meal in Nerja is always at Joannys the chips are to die for. Lovely friendly and pleasant staff. If you go to Nerja do try it you won’t be disappointed. Prices very very reasonable.

Always our first port of call when we arrive. Great to sit in the square with a cold beer, a nice salad or omelette and watch the locals go by ont heir daily business, away from the tourists.

Don’t think they have a day off now until September when they are closed on Sundays. They were closed on Sundays in April, but am almost sure they are open seven days now,

As from September till end of June : day off every Sunday !

They were closed last Sunday, because I really wanted to go before I came home, still not to worry they will be open in September when I am ther again. Love the place, great food, lovely staff!!!

I went with my church group and the meal was awful. They seem to be good at catering for a few people but not for groups. We do not intend to go there again.

Cannot understand the negative comments, have been going to Joanny’s and Nerja for almost twenty years. It a great place, often very busy, because it is so good.

I must admit my experience of Joanny is not good I’m afraid.
We went last summer and it was about half full. We placed our order and when the food came it was quite good but nothing to shout about. Nerja has a lot better options in my opinion.
The reason I remember it was the time to get our main meal. The starter arrived quickly but the main meal was well over an hour. If they were busy I could perhaps understand it. Just to wind me up even more, large groups coming, placing their orders and getting served before the 2 of us.
I wont be rushing back next time we are in Nerja.

Bar Joanny is one of our favourite places in Nerja and can’t wait to return this August. The food has always been excellent and very reasonably priced, the staff are very friendly and we just love spending a lazy afternoon on the sunny terrace eating and drinking and watching the world go by.Would highly recommend.
