In a TV interview with Jeremy Paxman, Gordon Brown tried to explain away his ‘bigot’ remark by saying he’d mistakenly linked her concerns about immigration with those about university tuition fees for her grandchildren. Maybe he should confer with his spin doctors so they can get their stories/excuses straight.
