A Bolivian man has avoided deportation from the UK after the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal ruled that because he and his girlfriend bought a cat as a family pet, sending him home would constitute a breach of his human rights by interfering with his family life.

How strange…or not

In a strange, but symptomatic survey of 2,000 women in the UK, some 74% were apparently in favour of the equivalent of maternity leave for childless women. The women believe that working, childless women should be entitled to up to six months ‘leave of absence’ in the same way as ‘maternity leave’ is granted to new mothers.
