Valencia 5-1 Málaga

Málaga did their chances of a top four finish no good after getting hammered 5-1 at Valencia on Saturday evening. Danai Perejo, Soldado with two and Canales put Valencia 4-0 up within 30 minutes before Baptista pulled one back for the Blue and Whites.

Wins for the top three

Two goals from Ronaldo, the first after only two minutes, and one for Higuaín saw Real Madrid win 0-3 at Athletic Bilbao. Ronaldo now has fifty for the season so far.

Málaga 1-0 Osasuna

Málaga bounced back from their Champions League defeat and moved up to fifth in La Liga after a 1-0 win over Osasuna on Saturday, although they left it very late indeed, Baptista scoring in the 93rd minute.

Barcelona through to the semi-finals of the Champions League

Barcelona are through to the semi-finals of the Champions League, fighting back to earn a 1-1 draw and eventually going through on the away goals rule, the aggregate score being 3-3. Pastore put the visitors ahead early in the second half before Pedro equalised in the 71st minute.

The fairytale is over

Two goals in time added on in Germany and the fairytale comes to an end, Málaga losing 3-2 on the night and on aggregate.

Valencia 2-1 Valladolid

Atlético Madrid look pretty secure in third place in La Liga, a good job as they could only draw 0-0 in their local derby against Getafe on Sunday. Valencia are fifth and only two points behind Real Sociedad after a 2-1 win against Valladolid.

Lorenzo wins opening race in Qatar

Defending champion Jorge Lorenzo led from start to finish in the first race of the new MotoGP season in Qatar on Sunday evening. All eyes, however, were soon on Valentino Rossi who, having started fifth and at one stage was seventh after making a mistake, charged through the field to finish second.

Barcelona 5-0 Mallorca

Barcelona maintain their comfortable thirteen point lead at the top of La Liga after a 5-0 win against Mallorca, Fabregas scoring a hat-trick and Alexis getting two goals. There were no less than 28 goals in the five matches played on Saturday.

Real Sociedad 4-2 Málaga

Real Sociedad look like they are beginning to take a firm grip on fourth place in La Liga after a 4-2 win over Málaga on Saturday.

Málaga 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

Plenty of chances for both sides but the match between Málaga and Borussia Dortmund ended 0-0, meaning Málaga are still in with a serious chance of progressing if they can up their game for the second leg in Germany. Meanwhile, goals from Ronaldo, Benzema and Higuaín gave Real Madrid a fairly comfortable first leg win over Turkish side Galatasaray.
