There was actually some activity behind Calahonda beach, about the first time since the day the project to install special lighting began a couple of months ago. The project had a completion period of four months.
Thrilling stuff for July…
For those who like a good thriller, either on holiday or at home, here are a few of the books coming out in July.
Out and About July 1st 2014…
Started the day with a bit of sea mist, then it was hot and just a breeze and finally along came the predicted strong, gusting winds. Red flags flying on the beaches by the afternoon.
Mobile move…
The Phone House is on the move from calle Chaparil to Plaza de la Ermita, next to the new chemist and not far from the Orange and Yoigo phone shops.
Crafty stuff…
It is always nice to see the traditional crafts, even though many of them are now dying out one by one. I don’t know if Joaquín has an apprentice, never seen him with anyone else.
Jobs and noise…
There is a notice on the door of the former Saloon in avenida Castilla Perez – opposite El Bosque at the junction of calle Fray Junipero Serra – asking for waiters, waitresses and kitchen staff, so presumably something new will be opening there in the not too distant future.
Change of opening times…
As from Monday June 23rd to September 7th, the Mercadona supermarket in calle San Miguel will be open from 09:00 to 22:00, Monday to Saturday.
Out and About June 19th 2014…
The cleaning boat is now a regular sight along the coast, the vessel provided by the Axarquia District organisation. Doesn’t look weighed down, so must be a good sign.
Out and About June 17th 2014…
Another warm one and plenty of people on the beaches and in the water, Calahonda beach was quite full at one stage.
Early doors June 8th 2014…
Crack of dawn, just after silly o’clock on a Sunday morning, and quite a few people about. Joggers, dog walkers, fishermen and others.
