A couple of new or relatively new ‘typical produce’ places have opened up, one in calle Málaga and the other in calle Granada, just up from El Colono and occupying the premises of the former Marley clothes shop.

Horses, mules, donkeys and oxen were all present in the Romería de San Isidro.

Strange day weather-wise, not bad in sheltered areas but very gusty and strong down on the seafront. Good for the windsurfers.
‘Gas inspectors’ making their rounds…
Be aware and alert, there are a number of ‘gas inspectors’ making their way from door to door in Nerja at the moment, just don’t let them in. The upcoming summer season will no doubt see more of these individuals crawling out of the woodwork.

A bit of graffiti on the wall behind Calahonda beach. Don’t recall having seen it before so assume it is new.
Municipal Cross 2014…
Quite a different style for the Municipal Cross this year, which was prepared by the Pro-Cofradía de Jesús Cautivo and the Abanico de ilusiones choir.
International Dawn Chorus Day…
International Dawn Chorus Day is held on the first Sunday in May – May 4th in 2014 – and the public are encouraged to rise early to listen to bird song. There are many organised events, some involving getting up at silly o’clock, or even earlier.

Clear skies, sun and hardly a breath of wind for the annual Residents Day in Plaza de España.
Out and About April 23rd 2014…
There was a small crowd on the Balcón de Europa for Dia del Libro – Day of the Book – with a number of local authors taking it in turns to stand at the podium and read extracts.
