Out and About February 26th 2014…

The ‘wild’ area behind the restaurant Papagayo on Calahonda beach is being totally cleared and the trees have been reduced to stumps. Guessing this is the location for the new lighting rather than the start of any work to reopen the old walkway.

New travel agent…

There is a new travel agent on the scene, Viajes Lola, located in calle El Barrio, Nerja. It is opposite the ice cream parlour towards the avenida Castilla Perez end of the street.

Update calle Chaparil February 19th 2014…

Just over four months now and the roadworks continue in calle Chaparil in the stretch between calle Antonio Millón and calle Jaén. One side has been completed so far.

Out and About February 16th 2014…

Very changeable weather at the moment but Sunday was quite warm and there were quite a few people out and about, quite a few in shorts and t-shirts.

Out and About February 12th 2014…

Work continues on the long project to build the underground car park at Burriana beach. Underground car parks are not renowned for being financially viable projects in any municipality, but they do of course bring valuable municipal income through the actual construction fees and licences.

Out and About February 6th 2014…

Seats, walls, railings, the fountain and even the cannons have been receiving a lick of paint or a clean-up recently. The painting of railings along the rio Chillar have also been getting the treatment.

Shoes, roadworks and other bits…

Temperatures suddenly dropped again after the long weekend ‘glitch’  of calm, sunny days and temperatures in the twenties. There were plenty of people on the beaches at the weekend, even a few dangling their toes in the water.

Out and About January 21st 2014…

What a difference a day makes, and although there is still quite a lot of white stuff on the hills, plenty of people sunning themselves down by the beach, a few on the beach and loads on the benches.

Out and About January 19th 2014…

It began to get a lot cooler on Saturday evening, I suppose it had to eventually, so the snow was no surprise. In town today, the wind wasn’t too bad, just the odd gust. A bit stronger along the riverbed but down on the seafront…whoa….blowing a gale.

There be white stuff…

Not only did the distant La Maroma have a good covering of snow today, but so did quite a few of the nearer hills.
