The Councillor for General Services in Vélez-Málaga, Francisco Natera, has ordered the closure of a disco in the Plazamar residential area of Torre del Mar due to noise problems and the establishment could end up losing its licence and being fined between €12,000 and €300,000.

According to a report by the Association of Traders and Businesses in Vélez-Málaga (ACEV), twenty-five percent of the commercial premises in the central streets of the town are currently closed as a result of the financial crisis.

The State Security forces are searching for a 58 year old male, identified as former teacher Robert Edward Bill, on suspicion of the attempted abduction of a 12 year old girl in Vélez-Málaga. Bill is considered a dangerous sex offender and has convictions for such in the UK.
