Scarletta’s in calle Cristo is now closed for the winter, reopening in February 2015. Joanny, in calle Frigiliana, is closed for holidays until December 1st 2014 and Casa Bueno in calle Cristo now has a ‘for rent’ sign on the premises.
Bar Cavana closed for holidays
Bar Cavana in Plaza Cavana, Nerja, is closed until December 3rd.
Ruskins now open for business
Ruskins, formerly Don Juan, is now open for business with Paula and Wayne at the helm.
Churreria La Rambla
There is a new bar/cafe/churreria on the corner of calle Almeria and calle Antonio Ferrandis ‘Chanquete’, opposite Parque Verano Azul, called La Rambla.
Ruskins
The former Don Juan on avenida Mediterraneo has its new sign up and it is going to be Ruskins. Still a while before it opens by the looks of it, although the notice on the window specifies ‘soon’.
A few changes
La Tertulia at the junction of calle Antonio Millón and calle Chaparil has now become Da Tino.
La Jaima
The second Meson Asador de Castilla on avenida Mediterraneo, Nerja, didn’t last very long and is now La Jaima.
1st Oktoberfest Nerja 2014
October 13th to 19th is the 1st Oktoberfest Nerja 2014 taking place at Cochran’s Pub just off the Balcón de Europa. The event is from 11:00 each day and there is also ‘live’ music.
Buffets, roasts and tapas
Not only does La Tahona Holandesa in Plaza Garcia Caparros, Nerja, have a regular Indonesian Buffet every Saturday, but it now also does traditional roasts every Sunday and offers a range of delicious, freshly made tapas.
Pepe Mesa has closed
Pepe Mesa has called it a day on El Playazo beach and is now closed. The rest of the bars, still under threat of hefty fines, are likely to close by the end of the year.
