Paella at La Barca

Had a very nice paella on Saturday at La Barca on Burriana beach, Nerja, thoroughly enjoyed it. Price is €6.50 and it was laced with mussels, clams, prawns, calamares and bits of chicken. Very good value.

Tapas at Barbacoa

A new tapas bar means giving it a go, so on a glorious Sunday lunchtime it was time to try the newly opened Barbacoa in calle Jaén, formerly home to the Andrea Inn and, subsequently, Diva’s Bar.

Barbacoa

The former Diva’s Bar on calle Jaén has reopened as ‘Barbacoa’, a tapas bar. No real structural change on the inside.

Cupcakes and coffee

Saturday special at La Capilla del Mar in calle la Cruz, Nerja. Homemade Lemon Curd Cupcakes plus coffee for €2.

Tapas at La Piqueta

Always nice to sit at the barrels outside La Piqueta on calle Pintada. Tapas are chosen for you so if you have any special dietary requirements then you need to make this known when you order your drink. The staff are happy to oblige. Beer and a tapa, €1.60.

Tapas at Los Bilbainos

Nothing ever seems to change at Los Bilbainos in calle Alejandro Bueno, Nerja, and it remains a bar full of ‘character’. Great place for the local wines – Frigiliana, Arenas, Competa, Málaga.

Desvan has closed

Desvan, nice tapas bar and restaurant on calle Pintada, Nerja, has closed and is up for sale. Pity, it was a great stopping-off point along Pintada.

Burger Homer up for sale

Burger Homer in Plaza La Marina, Nerja, is up for sale after a relatively short existence.

Tapas at Los Cuñaos, Nerja

Los Cuñaos on calle Herrera Oría, Nerja, has recently reopened so a good excuse to check it out. All is basically as it was before, no major changes. There is a wide choice of tapas, football scarves still adorn the walls and the atmosphere is friendly and vibrant. Delicious fish ‘pinchito’. A beer and a tapa, €1.50.
