Fire in the hole!
It is basic, simple and tasty. The fiery chorizo at Los Barriles on calle Carabeo. It is a little gem of a bar and always a great atmosphere.
Menu del Dia at the Senior Centre
The cafeteria at the Senior Centre in calle Diputación is open to all members of the public and does a very good value Menu del Dia for just €6. Paella is on the menu at least once per week.
Restaurant First special offer
Every Wednesday throughout August, Restaurant First is offering a 25% discount on the a la carte menu. You can always join them on Facebook.
Burger Homer is now open
Burger Homer in Plaza La Marina is now open and serving….burgers amongst other things. There is also quite a big street terrace at the front.
Mojito up for sale
The Mojito Cocktail Lounge in calle Diputación looks to be up for sale. Up until just over a year ago it was the Three Cliffs. Still open, though.
Las Peinetas closed again
Las Peinetas on calle San Miguel, almost opposite Mercadona, has closed again. It has had two owners in the short time it has been in existence.
La Bodeguilla tapa
Had a lovely mushroom tapa at La Bodeguilla on calle Antonio Millón, as well as the customary plateful of olives. Very good value and a very friendly bar, one of the best for tapas. Current price is €1.80 for a beer, olives and a tapa.
El Bulli closes
Five times voted best restaurant in the world, El Bulli has now closed and is scheduled to become a ‘gastronomic think tank’ in 2014. El Bulli Closes
