The tea and coffee house on the Plaza Balcon de Europa has become the Del Arte restaurant and pizzeria. Same owners, just a different direction since the arrival of the chef from Bella Roma.
Torre de las Guardas
The former Victoria bar on calle Chaparil is now a Spanish cafe/bar called Torre de las Guardas. A beer and a tapa will set you back €1.50.
Rincon de Europa closes
The Dutch owners of Rincon de Europa on the Plaza Balcon de Europa have called it a day after about eighteen months.
La Mar Sala
Another new bar, this time at the bottom end of calle Pintada in the premises formerly occupied by Cosmic Art, cerveceria freiduria La Mar Sala.
Meson La Bodega open again
And suddenly Meson La Bodega in Plaza La Marina is open again, restaurant and tapas bar.
Lunch at El Puente
Thursday was a nice day so I decided to stop in at El Puente for lunch. I have often had the tapas, always delicious, so it was about time I tried a proper meal as it were.
Centurion is now open
The bar/cafeteria Centurion on the Plaza Balcon de Europa is now open. Quite small and cosy inside but it has an ample terrace in the square. A small beer is €1.80, which is a bit on the pricey side, even for the location.
Buddy’s Bar
The former Speakeasy on calle Málaga reopened at 17:00 on Monday as Buddys Bar. Not too many changes with the interior. Beer is €1.50 to give an idea of prices and food is served from 12:00 each day.
Best extra virgin olive oil
The Spanish Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs (MARM) has been busy awarding prizes for extra virgin olive oil.
