The restaurant Gargoris on avenida Mediterraneo is currently closed.
More closures
Bar Avenida on avenida Pescia (near the police station) has closed down, as has D Rita in calle Pintada and the small bar/cafe El Pasaje in pasaje Cantarero which used to do some delicious churros. The Acorn Inn on avenida Castilla Perez has closed again as has the restaurant Il Bambino on the same street.
Bella Atalaya
A new bar/cafeteria will be opening before too long next to Duque on avenida de Pescia, the Bella Atalaya.
A Touch of Spice still closed
A Touch of Spice, the Indian restaurant on avenida Castilla Perez, remains closed, that’s two weeks now. The sign ‘opening soon’ has gone so the ‘electrical problems’ must be pretty serious. The restaurant was due to close over Christmas and New Year (December 21st to January 2nd) anyway.
Cielito Lindo
The Mexican restaurant Cielito Lindo in calle El Barrio is now closed for vacations.
Christmas Dinner at Hotel Rural Almazara
Christmas Day dinner with Sandy Lawrence providing the entertainment again this year at Hotel Rural Almazara, on the Frigiliana road. €42.95 including free local transport if required. Tel. 95 253 4200 for info and bookings.
A Touch of Spice
The Indian restaurant A Touch of Spice in avenida Castilla Perez is scheduled to close from December 21st to January 2nd, although it has been closed for the past ten days with a notice on the door saying ‘opening soon’. Electrical problems are quoted as the reason for it being closed.
Mandarin Palace
The Chinese restaurant Mandarin Palace on the corner of calle Chaparil and avenida Mediterraneo is currently closed for renovations.
Gury and Chique
The restaurant Gury in calle Merida is closed and up for sale. Bar Chique in calle Chaparil is reopening under Spanish management. The bar has been closed since the previous British owners apparently adopted the motto: when the going gets tough, the tough do a runner.
Jamaica
The highly popular cafeteria Jamaica on avenida Mediterraneo is closed for vacations until December 10th. Well, they are actually closed for holydays but we get the drift.
