Dia de la Constitución – Constitution Day – is celebrated throughout Spain on December 6th each year and is a public holiday.
The celebrations tend to be mainly institutional. In Nerja, the celebrations usually consist of a reading of parts of the constitution, a performance by the Nerja Municipal Band and the ceremonial raising of the four flags on the Town Hall by four local youths who have attained, or will attain, the age of eighteen years during the month of December.
