B is for Belén, the name traditionally given to a girl born on December 25th as well as generally translating as Nativity Scene.
Municipalities usually have an official Nativity Scene on display over the Christmas period as well as various private displays in shop windows etc. There are sometimes competitions for ‘Best Nativity Scene’ and several towns also famously have a ‘Living Nativity Scene’.
Nerja has an official scene on display each year in the Municipal Exhibition Hall, another can usually be found in the El Salvador church and Muebles Hermoso in calle Pintada always have an excellent display in their shop window.
