The replica of the fishing boat La Dorada, home of the old seawolf ‘Chanquete’ from the 1980’s TV series Verano Azul, is now looking spick and span after renovation.
The boat, located at one end of Parque Verano Azul, was becoming quite dilapidated and desperately in need of repair. The Council began the work in May 2014 and now all but part of the inside has been completed.
The project, which cost €36.245.90, necessitated the replacing of much of the original wood of both the hull and the deck. Iroko wood, hard and durable, has been used.
