About 1km above Capistrano Village is San Juan de Capistrano, built on a hillside and affording magnificent views of Nerja.
This modern development has a communal pool and a number of good bars and restaurants. Being on a hillside, of course, many of the streets are quite steep.
The centre of town (Balcon de Europa) is approximately 3.5km away.
The area is served by the local (blue) bus, one of the stops being outside the pool.
The Torres de San Juan restaurant is very distinctive, designed along the lines of the old Moorish watchtowers which can be found dotted all the way along the coast.
The nearest beach is Burriana, Nerja’s main beach, but there is a steep hill to negotiate. A taxi for the return journey is definitely a good idea.
