Punta Lara is a fairly large hillside urbanisation located on the Western outskirts of Nerja and opposite the popular Marinas de Nerja Hotel and apartments. It is a mixture of residential homes and holiday rental apartments and villas.
The urbanisation has a communal pool, with poolside bars, and a restaurant.
There is a regular bus service into Nerja, with the bus stop located on the main N-340 at the bottom of the (steep) hill or, alternatively, a taxi will cost you between €7 and €8.
The centre of Nerja, the Balcón de Europa, is about a 30 minute walk away, either following the main road (N-340) or, better still, walking along Playazo beach with its very Spanish bars, ‘chiringuitos’ and restaurants.
It is well worth considering hiring a car if you are ataying in this area, particularly if you have young children or elderly persons in your group. This is not only because of distance, but also because of the steepness of most of the roads in the area.
