Friday March 30th was the deadline for municipalities to submit their adjustment plans in order to qualify for funding to pay off municipal debts to suppliers and many left it to the very last moment, some even failing to meet the deadline.

Jaén Council has approved an adjustment plan for the next decade which will see taxes raised and a reduction in municipal employees by means of not replacing staff who retire.

Jerez Council has taken the decision to lay off (ERE) a total of 390 staff as part of their ‘adjustment plan’ so as to ensure that they receive €328 million of ICO funds from the Ministry of Economy and Finance for the purpose of paying outstanding debts to suppliers.
