All airports in Andalucia, including Sevilla, are once again open and operating normally, although passengers are still advised to call their airline or call 902 404 704 or 91 321 10 00 to confirm the status of flights. Málaga airport reopened at 21:00 on Tuesday evening.
Flight cancellations at Sevilla and Jerez de la Frontera airports
A total of 35 flights have so far been cancelled at Sevilla’s San Pablo airport and at Jerez de la Frontera due to a cloud of ash from the Icelandic volcano.
Airports open again
All Spanish airports are once again open and operating normally after closures during the weekend due to further activity from the Icelandic volcano. On Sunday, 632 of the 5,222 scheduled flights had to be cancelled as volcanic dust invaded Spanish airspace.
More volcanic ash causes airport closures
Fresh activity from the volcano in Iceland has caused the closure this morning of 15 airports in Spain: Bilbao, San Sebastian, Vitoria, Zaragoza, Pamplona, La Rioja, Santiago, La Coruna, Vigo, Asturias, Santander, Leon, Valladolid, Burgos and Salamanca.

AENA to ban noisy aircraft at a number of Spanish airports
The Spanish Airport Authority AENA (Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea) has unveiled a plan to curb noise levels, reduce CO2 emissions and save 25,000 tons of fuel, all starting in 2010.

Flights into Málaga down by 4.7% in August
Flights into Málaga airport in August were down by 4.6% compared to last year. Passenger numbers were down by 2.4% on the 2007 figure.
