The authorities in Alfacar are studying a request by researcher Miguel Caballero to carry out geotechnical studies in the area known as Almegíjar in an attempt to locate a Civil War mass grave which could contain the remains of Federico Garcia Lorca.
Baby seriously injured in fall from balcony
A 19 month old baby is in a serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit at the Hospital Maternal after falling from the balcony of a first floor apartment in Alfacar, Granada.
No more searching for Lorca
The Department of Justice has stated that it will not promote any further search for the remains of the poet Federico García Lorca unless specifically asked to do so by either the family of the poet or the Lorca Foundation.

Today sees the start of excavations at the site of Civil War graves in Alfacar where, amongst others, the remains of the poet Lorca are believed to be buried.
Exhumation set to begin
A georadar study conducted by the Andalucian Institute of Geophysics on behalf of the Junta de Andalucia has detected the possible remains of six people in a mass grave in the Fuente Grande park in Alfacar, Granada, one of whom is believed to be the poet Federico García Lorca.
