Spanish billionaire Amancio Ortega, founder and majority shareholder of fashion retailer Inditex, has moved up to third place in Forbes magazine’s 2013 list of the world’s richest men, overtaking US investor Warren Buffet. There are 1,426 names on the Forbes list with 20 being Spaniards, 4 more than was the case in 2012.

The financial crisis has not affected everyone. Amancio Ortega, the 76 year old Spanish owner of the fashion chain ‘Zara’, has seen his personal fortune increase by 32% this year and this has elevated him to the position of third richest man in the world with €38 billion.
