Torrox Council has approved an amendment to the PGOU (General Plan) relating to the use of communal urban land for public interest or social purposes. The provisionally approved amendment will permit the development of public projects such as funeral homes, petrol stations, recreation and leisure areas and the opening of small hotels.
Frigiliana LOUA amendment to allow the construction of VPO housing
The Junta de Andalucia has given the green light to a partial amendment to the LOUA (Urban Planning Act) through the Rules of Subsidiary Planning for Frigiliana which will allow land to be made available for the building of 49 VPO (subsidised) houses. The Council expects to approve the amendment in April.

Rajoy wants amendenment to the Children’s Act
The president of the Partido Popular, Mariano Rajoy, stated yesterday that he intends to introduce a motion in Congress to reform the Ley del Menor (Children’s Act) in the wake of the the incident in Baena where a thirteen year old girl was allegedly raped by a group of minors.
