The recent rains may have caused substantial damage in many parts of Andalucia, but it has brought the levels in the various reservoirs up to 88% of capacity.
More rains expected
The whole of Cádiz province, the Costa del Sol, Ronda and Guadalhorce in Málaga province are on ‘orange alert’ for heavy rains throughout Tuesday. A ‘yellow’ alert remains in other parts of Andalucia.
3 year old boy seriously injured after fall from balcony
A three year old boy is in a serious condition in hospital after falling about eight metres from a balcony in calle San Fernando in Armilla. The incident occurred at around 19:15 on Sunday evening.
Ferry crossings affected by bad weather
Passenger and car ferries between Tarifa and Tangier have been temporarily suspended today, Sunday, due to heavy seas and winds up to force 6. Some ferries between Algeciras and Ceuta and Tangier have also been cancelled due to the weather.
Reservoirs draining off water again
A number of reservoirs in Andalucia have once again been draining off excess water as a security precaution, those doings so on Saturday morning were Tranco, Guadalmena, Giribaile, Guadalén, Fernandina, Jándula, Yeguas, Arenoso, San Rafael de Navallana, Puente Nuevo, Breña, Bembézar, José Torán, Vadomojón, Iznájar, Rumblar, Retortillo, Melonares, Gergal and Agrio.
Very cold in parts of Andalucia
AEMET has issued a yellow alert for cold weather in Granada, Almería and Jaén provinces, with early morning temperatures as low as minus six degrees in some areas.
