The storms over the past few days in Andalucia have caused damage to rural areas estimated at €30 million, the province of Córdoba being the worst hit.
Reservoirs in healthy state
The reservoirs in Andalucia are apparently in a healthy state, particularly for the time of year, standing at an overall 78.5% of capacity. This is 42% more than at the same time last year.

10 road traffic fatalities so far
A total of ten people have so far lost their lives on the roads in Spain during the ‘puente’ weekend, seven of these deaths occurring in the region of Andalucia.
Three boats intercepted
A total of 86 illegal immigrants traveling in three boats have been intercepted along the Andalucian coast and are now in Almeria and Motril awaiting processing. The passengers, who included five women, were all in good health after their wasted journey.
Too many sales and for too long
Summer sales, winter sales, Christmas sales, New Year sales; there always seem to be sales of one sort or another. Halfway through the ‘summer sale’ and many businesses in Andalucia would like to see a change, with such sales only lasting 15 days or perhaps one month.
Industrial Production Index
The Industrial Production Index in Andalucia fell by 3.6% in June 2010 when compared to June 2009, and for the first six months of 2010 the decline was 6% when compared to the same period last year.
Andalucia Green Party want a bullfighting vote
The Green Party of Andalucia is to start a campaign to gather 75,000 signatures to force a vote in the Andalucian Parliament on the subject of bullfighting.
