According to a survey carried out into the use of drugs in Andalucia, consumption has dropped in the region when compared to 2007.

Prices in Andalucia up by 1.2%

Prices in Andalucia rose by 1.2% during April according to the National Statistics Institute (INE), with the CPI for Spain as a whole rising by 1.1%.

Airports in Andalucia are open again

All airports in Andalucia, including Sevilla, are once again open and operating normally, although passengers are still advised to call their airline or call 902 404 704 or 91 321 10 00 to confirm the status of flights. Málaga airport reopened at 21:00 on Tuesday evening.

Woman killed at bus stop in Sevilla

A 35 year old mother of two children died yesterday morning after being hit by a car while she was standing at a bus stop in avenida Kansas City near the San Pablo Sports Stadium. A man, also waiting at the bus stop, was slightly injured in the incident.

Battery recycling

The Association of Municipalities of the Costa del Sol East, has signed a collaboration agreement with the Foundation Ecopilas to install a total of 120 containers for the collection of old batteries in the 31 municipalities in the Axarquia. Excluded, however, are alkaline, button-type and mobile phone batteries.

Griñán in Portugal

During an official visit to Portugal, the president of the Junta de Andalucia, José Antonio Griñán, apologised for his inability to speak Portuguese and announced his intention to make Portuguese the second foreign language in secondary schools.

32 arrested in drugs operation

In the latest and ongoing investigation into drugs smuggling in Andalucia, police have detained a total of 32 people and seized about 8,600 kilos of hashish.

Bag snatcher nabbed in Torre del Mar

Police in Torre del Mar have arrested a man for ‘allegedly’ snatching the handbag of a local resident. Police in avenida de Andalucia heard a woman scream out that she had been robbed and saw a man running away. The police caught him and recovered the woman’s handbag which contained about €300.

The Andalucian economy

According to Economic Analysts of Andalucia, the economic crisis has finally bottomed out but it will be the latter half of 2011 before any substantial growth in employment is seen.
