Puerto Madero
The former ‘La Teja’ on avenida Mediterraneo, closed for many months, is under renovation and will be reopening shortly as the ‘Puerto Madero’ cafeteria and bar.
Anything smaller?…
Popping into a drinking establishment at 12:30 for liquid refreshment and being told ‘otra dia’ because they can’t change a €5 note tells you one of two things: either they are not doing very well or they are not well-prepared. Not sure which in this case.
New bar on the Balcon…
Another new bar has opened. On May 5th in fact. It is the Rincon de Europa, on the Plaza Balcon de Europa, and is the premises of the former Bar Picasso. Someone had to check it out!
Making do
Bar Cavana is taking advantage of the new pedestrianised area around Plaza Cavana, at least while the work in the square continues, by putting out a terrace right in front of the bar. Presumably just a temporary solution.
Chique…
It was once a launderette and it has also been ‘Stereo’, with several owners, and ‘La Bodega Nueva’, but now it’s ‘Chique’.

The Town Hall has ordered the immediate closure of a bar on El Playazo beach and has started proceedings to fine the owners €80,000 in relation to violation of the PGOU.
