The Council, at least, has approved the basic design for an underground car park at Burriana beach which will be the fourth such facility in the municipality.
Mixed volleyball tournament
The Beach VolleyBall ‘Mixed’ Tournament took place on Burriana beach and first place went to Andrea and Ángel, second place to Natalia and Jesús and third place to Ángela and Sandro. The next tournament, a 2×2 male and female in all categories, takes place on August 26th and 27th.

Noche de San Juan on Burriana beach
The official municipal celebrations for the Noche de San Juan on June 23rd begin at 20:00 with a meal for the seniors of the community at Ayo’s on Burriana beach.
Glorious day at the beach…
A glorious day – storms forecast for Andalucia tomorrow!! -and it brought the crowds out all over the place, Burriana beach in particular. As you can see from the picture on the left, parking was as easy as ever and it paid to be a bit inventive.
Buriana rubbish bins now operational
The underground rubbish containers on Burriana beach, four sets with a total of 34 bins, are now operational. The project cost €289,000 and was financed under the FEESL scheme.
Burriana beach, February 17th 2011…
A very windy day at times, although that didn’t stop quite a few people stretching out on the various beaches. At one stage on Burriana, the wind stirred the sand up into quite a thick cloud stretching from one end to the other. Only about one metre high, but quite impressive. Unless you were trying to sunbathe, of course.
More underground rubbish containers for Burriana
Work is now under way to double the number of underground rubbish containers at Burriana beach, some of them being large enough for use by the businesses in the area.

The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, has announced the start of administrative procedures for the construction of an underground car park at Burriana beach, which will be the fourth underground car park in the municipality.
Whispers in the wind…
By all accounts, a fairly recently opened establishment on Burriana beach had both its best and worst day of the summer at the same time. Having apparently taken around €2,000 for the day, one of the staff then grabbed the cash and did a runner.
