The Council has approved a project to improve the lighting at Calahonda beach and along the surrounding cliffs so that the area is lit up throughout the night for the benefit of residents and tourists alike, particularly during the summer months.
Watching the waves roll in…
A beautiful day for just lounging in one of the coves off Calahonda beach and watching the waves roll in.
A beautiful November day…
A beautiful and sunny day today, and a few people on Calahonda beach, some in the water.
The occasional stinger…
There was the odd stray jellyfish about today. These people spotted one as they were in the water at Calahonda beach this afternoon and someone collected it in a bucket and took it to show his mates.
Fun waves…
There were some fun, regular rolling waves down at Calahonda beach this afternoon. Good crowds on the beaches but not so many people wandering around the rest of the town during the day.
Out and about May 29th 2012…
A fair number of people milling about at the moment enjoying the glorious summer weather. Lovely flat calm sea. Even the feral moggies are looking extremely contented.
Autumn morn…
The sun on the water in the morning makes for an interesting picture. Taking the photo into the sun removes most of the colour and makes it look more like night time than broad daylight.
Drowning at Calahonda beach
A 64 year old man of Asian origin died from drowning on Friday evening at Calahonda beach, Nerja. The incident happened at 18:00. Another man, who went in to try and rescue the man in trouble, needed medical treatment after being dashed against the rocks.
Good day for it…
Glorious couple of days, clear blue skies and quite a few people sunbathing on the beaches. And who can blame them? Flat, calm sea and clear at the moment, certainly clear enough to see the little fishies swimming around.
