Cazalla de la Sierra acts against evictions
The mayor of Cazalla de la Sierra, Sevilla, Carmelo Conde, has signed an order instructing the local police not to assist with any eviction orders. The Council is contacting the banks to demand the end to evictions and is also considering suspending the plusvalia (capital gains) tax and IBI (rates) to help families in the area.

Excavation of a mass grave in Cazalla de la Sierra, Sevilla, has so far uncovered the remains of eight people who were shot in 1936 and 1937, with shell casings in the vicinity of the bodies. It is thought that the grave, several layers deep, could contain as many as 300 corpses.
