PC City to quit Spain

The retail chain PC City, owned by the British company Dixon Retails, is set to end its presence in Spain, closing its 34 stores and affecting 1,224 staff.

Multiservicios Ortega Corbera in avenida Castilla Perez, next to the (best) chicken shop in Nerja, appears to have decided to call it a day after quite a long existence.

Frigiliana underground car park may close

It is a little over two years since the one and only underground car park in Frigiliana opened for business, but it is currently expected to close on November 8th due to continuing financial problems.

A-92 suffers again

The A-92 highway has suffered once more as a result of the heavy rains with an eleven kilometre stretch near Diezma having to be closed due to subsidence and hillslides. The affected stretch is between km 271 and km 282 in the direction of Sevilla.

Historic Huelva market closes

The old historic Mercado del Carmen in Huelva has closed after 144 years and is being replaced with a new €18 million construction not fifty metres from the old site.

Russian away…

The Russian shop on avenida Castilla Perez closed today. It hadn’t been open that long but never seemed to do much business or be overly stocked with goodies for that matter.

El Playazo bar ordered to close

The Town Hall has ordered the immediate closure of a bar on El Playazo beach and has started proceedings to fine the owners €80,000 in relation to violation of the PGOU.

Old Granada provincial prison to close

The old provincial prison in Granada is set to close later this month, the almost one hundred inmates moving to the new Centre for Social Integration (CIS).
