Coín Council has started work on installing a whole series of speed bumps throughout the town, particularly near schools and on busy roads, in an attempt to reduce the number of accidents. The project is costing €28,000.

Guardia Civil officers in Coín have arrested a 37 year old British national, Tom NB, on charges of crimes against the public health after the discovery of 337 marijuana plants being cultivated on his property. The plants, cannabis sativa, are destined to be destroyed.
