One of the events to celebrate Constitution Day on December 6th was held yesterday at the Nerja Cultural Centre where pupils from the Instituto El Chaparil attended a lecture by the provincial delegate Patricia Navarro.

The Councillor for Citizen Participation has announced the events to commemorate Constitution Day, beginning with a talk to be given by the provincial delegate Maria Bravo at the Nerja Cultural Centre, calle Granada 45, on December 4th.
Constitution Day 2012
The Constitution Day celebrations included a performance by the Nerja Municipal Band as well as the ceremonial hoisting of the flags adorning the Town Hall. The honour of raising the flags was in the hands of four local residents who will attain, or have attained, the age of eighteen years during this month.

29 killed on the roads during the ‘puente’ holiday period
There were twenty-nine deaths in twenty-six fatal accidents on the roads in Spain during the long ‘puente’ holiday, including Constitution Day (Dec 6th) and Immaculate Conception (Dec 8th), from 15:00 on Friday December 2nd to midnight on Thursday December 8th. A further fifteen people were seriously injured.

First Nerja Crafts Show
The first Nerja Crafts Show is due to take place on Constitution Day, December 6th, in the Plaza de Espana between 11:00 and 17:00. All crafts on display have to be entirely hand made and fifty artisans from Málaga have already signed up to participate.
