Criticism of Antequera feria

The opposition PSOE in Antequera has harshly criticised the Agrogant agricultural feria saying that exhibition stands were smaller, there were less exhibitors than normal and public admission to certain events was too restrictive. The Council response was that the event had to conform to budgetary constraints.

IU critical of parking policy

The IU has criticised the decision by the ruling PP (several months ago) to order the owners of plots of land in the centre of town to erect walls around these plots to prevent them being used as free parking. These plots were used as free parking areas for many, many years without problem.

Councillor for Culture criticises Cultural delegate

On Tuesday, the regional delegate for Culture, Manuel García, and the Opposition PSOE leader and manager of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Ángel Ramírez, announced the inclusion of the Nerja Museum in the Andalucian Museum Network and one was just waiting for some kind of barbed response from the Council.

Vélez-Málaga PP criticises loss of parking spaces

The construction of a cycle path on avenida de La Pasionaria in Vélez-Málaga has provoked indignation from the Partido Popular due to the fact that the project removes fifty parking spaces along the road.

Criticism of decision to demolish old barracks in Ronda

The opposition parties in Ronda are critical of the Council decision to spend €600,000 on demolishing the old Concepción barracks in the town, a project which has doubled in cost after the discovery that much of the roof was corrugated iron and contained asbestos.

Muted response from Ángel Ramírez

Following the harsh criticism by the PP government of the management of the Nerja Caves Foundation and, in particular, the actions taken by the Foundation manager, PSOE leader Ángel Ramírez, the initial response has been somewhat tepid in comparison to the normal acrimonious exchanges we have come to expect.
