Faiçal Britit and Cristóbal Ortigosa, both members of Club Nerja de Atletismo-Cueva de Nerja-UMA, took first and second places in the provincial cross-country championships held at the weekend in San Pedro de Alcantara.
The female youth team from the Nerja Athletic Club won the Spanish Cross Country Championship held in Oropesa del Mar, Castellón, on Sunday.
Club Nerja de Atletismo Cueva de Nerja-UMA were runners-up in the European Junior Cross-country Club Championships at the Parque Echevarría in Bilbao. Turkish club Fenerbahce were winners for the second year in a row and Sparta A.M. of Denmark finished third.
