On Saturday March 29th, Bob and Patsy Muldowney hosted a party at the Hotel Villa Flamenca to celebrate Patsy’s 80th birthday, and instead of giving presents, people were invited to donate some money to charity.

The journalist Eduardo San Martín, who has variously worked for Efe, El País, ABC and Televisión Española, has donated a lift to the colegio Nueva Nerja after hearing an appeal on the Onda Cero radio show ‘Julia en la onda’.
Torrox businessman donates palm trees
In the past year, local Torrox businessman Alfredo Navas has generously donated over one hundred palm trees to the municipality and these now adorn various gardens and roundabouts in the town.

The renowned painter Santiago Fernández Aragüez, a native of Vélez-Málaga, has donated his work, ‘Nerja, un sueño posible’ (Nerja, a possible dream) to the town of Nerja.
Sunday ITV proceeds destined for Haiti
Fifty ITV (vehicle inspection) stations in Andalucia will be open on Sunday from 09:00 to 13:30, with the entire proceeds being donated to the Red Cross to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. It will be a first come, first served situation with no appointments possible either through the normal phone number or via the website.
La Caixa donates €1,500 to the Fletcher Fund
The Caixa bank in Torrox is donating a cheque for €1,500 to the Fletcher Falvey fund. Fletcher is a three year old British boy suffering from a serious brain tumour who needs an expensive operation.
