Mijas Council has distributed license plates to the famous donkey taxis, carriages and donkey carts in order to facilitate the recognition of animals and their owners and improve tourist services in the town.

The Mijas Pueblo donkey taxi staff now have a uniform to make them more easily recognisable and to improve the image of the town, so no more baseball caps, t-shirts and flip-flops.
Uniforms for Mijas donkey taxi operators
The Donkey Taxi operators in Mijas are now obliged to wear a uniform decided upon by the Council. The Council is funding the first cap and jacket for each of the 23 people involved with the taxi service.
