Local Police in Pizarra were called out to rescue an Eagle Owl caught in a fence in the Zalea area of the town. Once freed, the owl was treated by a local vet and then taken to the Recovery Centre for Endangered Species (CREA).

To mark World Bird Day yesterday, the Department of environment participated in the release back into the wild of an Eagle Owl in Fuente de Piedra. The owl has spent the past four months in the Endangered Species Recovery Centre after being found injured.
