The work at El Chucho is progressing. At least there’s a sea wall built, but still a long way to go. June is still the predicted completion of the whole new promenade. The actual beach at this end is no longer ‘off limits’ although there is still no access from Torrecilla beach, you have to go round via calle Mérida.
First El Playazo agreements signed
Yesterday saw the signing of the first agreements between the Nerja Council and several of the landowners on El Playazo beach, a move adopted by the Council to avoid the expropriation of the lands by the Department of Coasts.
Work begins on El Chucho beach
Work has started on the new promenade at El Chucho beach. The long-term objective is to have one huge walkway, or promenade, basically stretching from Torrecilla beach (at Plaza Fabrica de los Cangrejos) to El Playazo beach (ending at the Marinas de Nerja). El Chucho is the linking section between Torrecilla and El Playazo.
Fire at El Playazo, Nerja
A fire occurred at one of the boatyards on El Playazo beach which took firefighters three hours to extinguish.
Nerja Councillor makes interesting revelation
The only business on El Playazo beach in Nerja actually in possession of a municipal licence is also the only one which has been forced to close.
Nerja closes camper van parks
Two sites at El Playazo beach set up as parking areas for camper vans just three months ago have been ordered to close by the Municipal Council.
Nerja motor home parking area denounced
The opposition PSOE leader in Nerja, Ángel Ramírez has denounced the parking area for motor homes as an ‘unlicensed campsite’.
El Playazo beach in Nerja, no cause for concern
The Nerja Councillor for Urban Planning, Inocencia Quintero, has stated that there is no danger of the lands at El Playazo beach being appropriated.
