Benalmádena Council has voted to leave FAMP, the the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces in Andalucia, saying that it sees little point in remaining a member of an organisation that does not represent the municipality and its residents, or any PP controlled municipality for that matter, yet costs them in the region of €6,000 per year.
Rincón de la Victoria is first to formally leave FAMP
Rincón de la Victoria has become the first municipality to formally leave FAMP – the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces in Andalucia – on the grounds that its composition does not properly represent the political reality in Andalucia and serves the interests of the minority PSOE-A and José Antonio Griñán rather than the municipalities.

The PP-A has decided to withdraw from FAMP, the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces in Andalucia, citing blocking tactics and the arrogance of the socialists as their reasons.

The Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol Axarquía (Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Axarquia) has approved a motion by their president, Oscar Medina, for membership of the Federación Andaluza de Municipios y Provincias (FAMP).
