A(nother) wasted effort

On Friday, the Department of Coasts finished the replenishment of Ferrara Playa in Torrox Costa ready for Easter, but by Saturday, the weather had once again turned the beach into a mess. Beach erosion is a constant problem for the municipality.

New lighting for Torrox promenade

Following the completion of the repaving of the promenade at Ferrara Playa, a €1,5 million project financed by the First Plan Zapatero (State Fund for Employment), Torrox Council now wants to renew the lighting and the street furniture.

Storms damage beach in Torrox Costa

Storms during the past couple of days have once again had a dramatic effect on Ferrara Playa beach in Torrox Costa, the eastern end now having a one metre high ‘step’ due to the sands being washed away.

All in vain

Just twenty-four hours after the Department of Coasts finished the perpetual, and expensive job of replenishing Ferrara Playa in Torrox with fresh sand, high winds have destroyed all the good work.
